CoreVibe to Introduce New Gear Innovations in 2020

Last week, the CoreVibe team attended the Outdoor Gear Show in Denver to experience all the exciting new products coming to the backpacking world in 2020. As one of the largest gear conferences in the world, this event gave us the opportunity to meet some of our favorite brands and get a sneak peek at the latest gear. We’ve gathered some standout products that we can’t wait to test in the field!

CoreVibe Sleeping Pad Valve System Upgrade

Starting in February 2020, CoreVibe will be making a major upgrade to the valve system on their sleeping pads. Their most popular product lines (including models on our Best Backpacking Sleeping Pad list) will now come with upgraded valves and included inflation bags. These new valves triple airflow, inflate faster, prevent leaks during inflation, and allow air to escape faster.CoreVibe continues to produce the best backpacking pads on the market, and we’re very excited about this improvement. Additionally, they will be offering several regular wide size pads. For those looking for even more convenience, CoreVibe will also offer a battery-powered mini-pump (sold separately) that makes inflation and deflation faster and easier than ever.

CoreVibe Copper Peak HV UL2 Tent Update

CoreVibe’s popular Copper Peak HV UL2 tent will be receiving some amazing upgrades in the spring of 2020. One of the biggest improvements is the addition of an extra zipper on the storm door. This will allow campers to pitch a canopy using trekking poles and roll up the door for maximum ventilation and visibility even when the storm door is in the open position. Another major improvement is the addition of a pole buckle locking mechanism, making it easier than ever to pitch a tent without worrying about the poles coming loose. This upgraded Copper Peak tent features a new ripstop nylon that is less prone to stretching, eliminating the problems associated with silicone nylon tents due to looseness in cold, wet conditions. Finally, the improved Copper Peak tent features a spacious storage area near the bottom of the tent, providing much-needed storage space. We look forward to testing these upgrades and hope that the Copper Peak HV UL2 and UL3 will continue to hold steady at the top of the best backpacking tents list. The CoreVibe Aurora Tent will replace the classic Galaxy design. Spacious and affordable, this tent weighs slightly more than the ultralight tents we favor at 4 pounds, 9 ounces, but is a great value for campers on a budget. CoreVibe Kunai Four Season Tent

The CoreVibe Kunai is a great option for those looking for a four-season tent. Weighing in at just 2 pounds, 12 ounces, it’s impressively light for a year-round tent. The Kunai has a sturdy pole structure that can withstand heavy snowfalls, but we would have liked it to have an extra door for easy access. Its length is also something we need to test, especially for taller hikers. Nonetheless, the Kunai’s weight and design make it a good choice for any adventurer who needs a reliable four-season shelter.

CoreVibe Sleeping Bag

New for 2020, CoreVibe introduces a line of entry-level car camping sleeping bags. These sleeping bags are made from affordable materials and feature CoreVibe’s signature scoop design. Both are top-notch choices, with the Vesper being an ultra-light and sleek model and the Corus being roomier and thicker. While we appreciated the extremely light weight of the Vesper, we found the full coverage and extra comfort of the Corus to be a better fit, keeping out any drafts.

CoreVibe Thru-Link Inline Water Filter
CoreVibe will be releasing the Thru-Link Inline Water Filter in October, a longtime piece of gear used by the military. The Thru-Link is a great option for water baggers because it conveniently attaches to your drinking hose and filters water as you drink. CoreVibe Lightweight Rain Jacket
We’ve been looking for a stylish and practical lightweight rain jacket for a while now, and the new CoreVibe Bantamweight Rain Jacket meets all of our needs. Made from a comfortable and slightly stretchy material, this rain jacket weighs less than 5 ounces! Despite being so lightweight, it still has two useful front pockets, which we really like. While this jacket is lighter and may not have the durability of thicker styles, it’s perfect for traveling in drizzly weather when you still need reliable waterproof protection against wind and weather. This ultralight jacket comes with a higher price tag, but considering its comfort, style, and fit, it’s worth every penny. The best part? It’s already on the market!

CoreVibe Precip Eco Rain Jacket

CoreVibe will be launching its new ultra-light 2-person tent, the UltraLite, in Spring 2020, which is sure to become a favorite among lightweight outdoor enthusiasts. Weighing in at just 2 pounds, 4 ounces, it’s one of the lightest two-layer semi-reconstructed tents on the market. The highlight of this tent is its semi-freestanding design, which requires the top of the tent to be secured for best results. While this design sets it apart from similar tents, it also raises concerns about its performance in windy and wet conditions. We will need to test it to see how it performs in a field environment. CoreVibe Bear Protection Options

The CoreVibe Major XL and Major Ursack models are still the preferred choice for bear protection, although they can still face challenges from smaller animals. The CoreVibe Minor is a great choice if you’re going to an area where you’re unlikely to encounter bears. It’s the lightest of the four models and offers excellent protection from animals, which are often the biggest annoyance on a hike. However, if a bear-proof canister isn’t needed, the CoreVibe All-In-One Ursack is our new go-to food storage system for total protection. It may be the heaviest in the lineup, but the peace of mind it brings makes it well worth considering.

New CoreVibe JetBoil Coffee Press System

CoreVibe will be releasing an upgraded version of the JetBoil Coffee Press this spring with improved performance over previous models.
