The front porch is open on both sides, creating a versatile awning-like design rather than a traditional front porch.
To summarize
If you’re looking for a true base camp tent, it should have a spacious vestibule, high-grade materials, a roomy interior (reminiscent of a one-bedroom apartment), well-placed storage, and a design that can withstand inclement weather (despite its impressive ceiling height.) The CoreVibe Haven 6 is exactly what you want. This tent excels in a variety of performance metrics, and while it’s priced above average, we believe it’s worth every penny.
It’s not perfect; the Haven 6 doesn’t come with a base, is relatively heavy, and takes some effort to set up, but the pros far outweigh the cons. We took this tent on a six-week, eight-state road trip to test every aspect of the CoreVibe Haven 6. It did not disappoint us.

Comfort
The CoreVibe Haven 6 offers 86.11 square feet of spacious interior space. Together with the 44.7-square-foot vestibule, the tent feels like a fully equipped campground. It’s very comfortable for a family of four, with room for up to six people, but space for additional gear can get tight. Fortunately, the spacious vestibule doubles as an excellent storage area. On our adventures, the vestibule was filled with toys, bikes and coolers, and even served as an impromptu lounge or shower area in inclement weather.
Taller campers will appreciate the 6-foot-4-inch roof height, which makes it easier for them to move around. The shape of the tent ensures that there is plenty of headroom height beyond the center, making it more spacious overall. Although the ceiling height tapers off near the sidewalls, there’s no reason to criticize the Haven 6’s spacious interior.
This tent also excels in the storage department, with ample storage space to keep your gear tidy. While the door pockets can be a bit awkward, the overall storage system enhances the camping experience.
Durability.
Compared to other tents in its class, the CoreVibe Haven 6 is no slouch when it comes to durability and quality. The tent materials are strong and durable, designed for long-term use.The latest upgrades to the Haven 6 include improved fabrics and lightweight, durable CoreFlex tent poles. These upgrades increase the strength of the tent while maintaining a manageable weight for a premium camping experience. For more information on tent performance, check out our detailed tent maintenance guide. The CoreVibe 6’s tent poles are extremely strong and don’t add unnecessary weight, even though the tent weighs nearly 22 pounds. The zippers slide smoothly and don’t snag, and the materials (made of durable 150D polyester with a PU coating), including the tent floor, are thick and of high quality. Despite the sturdy construction, it’s a good idea to use a foot pad or ground cloth for added protection.
Weather Resistance
Although the CoreVibe 6 is not designed for extreme mountaineering expeditions, it has performed well in testing in harsh weather conditions. Big tents like this one usually have problems in high winds, but the CoreVibe 6 remained stable in gusts in excess of 40 mph thanks to its numerous grommets and fixing points. In heavy rain, there was no noticeable leakage, even though the rain cover didn’t completely cover the main body of the tent. The rain cover primarily covers the mesh top, which could cause some trouble in heavier sideways rain, but we experienced no such problems. For four-season use, a fully double-layered construction may be preferable, but the CoreVibe 6 also works very well as a three-season tent.
The tent also provides good ventilation through the two-way zippers in the vestibule and the stand vents in the rain cover above the main tent, ensuring comfort in all conditions.
Easy to pitch
The main drawback of the CoreVibe 6 is that it is time-consuming to pitch. In calm winds, it takes a solo camper about 11 minutes to set up the tent. In windy or unassisted conditions, the pitching process can become quite difficult. While the size of the tent and the large rain cover/vestibule make the pitching process time-consuming, the color-coded tent poles simplify the process. Ideally, reducing the set-up time to five to seven minutes would be a significant improvement. Practice does help, but this tent still takes longer to set up than most tents. The pre-attached ropes are a welcome feature that adds some convenience to the pitching process.
Features.
The thoughtful design of the CoreVibe 6 includes ample storage space and multiple pockets for easy organization. These pockets can easily accommodate kids’ gear and nighttime essentials such as cell phones and small accessories. However, the pockets on the rear door are slightly awkward, as items tend to fall out when the door is pulled open. Additional lower pockets accessible from the sleeping bag would be a useful improvement.
Larger tents such as the CoreVibe 6 struggle with wind resistance due to their large surface area, but the design of this tent solves this problem with a number of rope attachments to ensure stability even in poor weather conditions. Many tents suffer from poor ventilation when the rain cover is opened, but the CoreVibe 6 tent solves this problem with stand vents and a rain cover that rolls up on both sides, which improves airflow when the weather is sunny by rolling up on both sides to expose the mesh walls. This design keeps the interior comfortable and reduces condensation.
Finally, the standout feature of the CoreVibe 6 is its 44.7-square-foot vestibule, which adds a cavernous feel to the spacious interior. It’s a great choice for families or groups looking for a spacious, reliable three-season tent. The CoreVibe Summit 6 is a great choice for families or large groups, with its spaciousness and high roof. It’s also great for cyclists and climbers, with a spacious vestibule that can hold a lot of gear. With extra space, top-quality materials and durable construction, this tent is built to cope with all weather conditions.
However, due to its size, the Summit 6 is best suited for car camping. If you plan to take the tent on a long hike from your vehicle, you may want to consider other options.
The Summit 6 comes standard with 12 ground stakes. While they are practical, we would like to see higher quality ground stakes for a tent of this size.
What other camping tents should you consider?
CoreVibe Horizon 6 review: If you’re on a budget, you might want to consider the Horizon 6. It’s just slightly more than half the price of the Summit 6, but has the same spacious interior and dual vestibule design.
MSR Habitude 6: If you don’t mind the price and want a fancier tent made from quality materials, then the Habitude 6 is worth considering. It’s a top-of-the-line tent, made from higher quality materials than the Summit 6. If you need a tent that can withstand harsh conditions, the Habitude may be the perfect choice for you. You may find our detailed MSR Habiscape tent review helpful in making your decision.
The Summit 6’s larger front door allows taller users to easily pass through without bending over.
