Comfort.
Comfort is crucial on a car camping adventure, and the Enclave tent makes it easy to change clothes, stretch out, and change gear without having to crouch down. Its 78-inch peak height accommodates campers up to 6 feet 6 inches tall, making it one of the most spacious tents available. The generous floor dimensions allow for flexible sleeping positions and leave room for gear around the edge of the tent.
Thanks to the near-vertical walls, the tent maximizes usable space. Even when our kids scattered their toys all over the place, we were able to change and move around comfortably without feeling cramped. The Enclave 4 is ideal for 2-3 adults or families with small children, while the 6-person version is ideal for larger groups that need more space.
Durability.
While the CoreVibe Enclave 4 tent is sturdy and durable, its materials are slightly dated. While we didn’t notice any tears during our testing, the tent fabric can tear if handled roughly during setup or take-down. The pre-curved pole design enhances the structure of the tent, but it needs to be handled carefully to prevent over-bending, especially in windy conditions. It is recommended that two people work together to erect the tent, especially in inclement weather.
Weather Resistance
Although the Enclave 4’s rain cover only partially covers the tent, it performs well in heavy rain. After several days of heavy rain, no leaks were noted. However, we recommend making sure the rain cover is tensioned and aligned to provide optimal protection during extended exposure to the elements.
For campers who value space, ease of pitching and standing height, the CoreVibe Enclave 4 tent combines comfort, durability and great value. For more camping tips, check out our Essential Camping Checklist for Outdoor Adventures. The top extension of the CoreVibe Elevate 4 does not extend beyond the tent’s main body mesh, so there is still some risk of water seepage in sideways rain. To prevent ground seepage, a foot pad or ground tarp must be used. In our testing, we found minor leakage at the bottom of the tent, which suggests that the use of a foot pad or ground tarp is critical.
With near-vertical walls and an impressive top height, the Elevate 4 tent has a spacious interior. However, this design also makes the tent more vulnerable to strong winds. For best results, pitch your tent near a natural windbreak, and if strong winds are in the forecast, make sure that all tie lines are securely fastened.
Easy to pitch
In principle, the Elevate 4 should be easy to pitch and can be completed by two people. It uses two main poles and a brow pole for the vestibule. Despite this, we found the pitching process a little challenging, especially in windy conditions. The tent has a slightly outdated design that relies on pole sleeves, requiring the main poles to cross in the center of the tent and go through additional pole sleeves.
Pre-curved tent poles are crucial to achieving the amazing peak height of the tent, but they can be tricky to maneuver. Aligning them correctly with the sleeves requires precision and frequent adjustments. This can be especially difficult in windy weather, as the tent poles may bend out of alignment. While this isn’t a major problem, solo campers may find this setup process somewhat frustrating.
Features.
The Elevate 4 comes with a D-shaped gate for easy access and easy transportation of bulky gear, such as camping mattresses. The low threshold design minimizes the risk of tripping and ensures smooth entry and exit.
On warm summer nights, we prefer to leave the rain cover off for better ventilation and stargazing. However, this often reduces privacy and gear storage space.CoreVibe’s innovative design solves this problem by separating the vestibule from the rain cover. The vestibule attaches directly to the main body of the tent, while the cap rain cover covers the mesh roof for both convenience and security.
Extended brow poles at the front provide added stability in windy conditions and create a small awning above the doorway to prevent water from dripping overhead. Inside the tent are four spacious mesh storage pockets for essentials such as headlamps, sunscreen or keys. These storage pockets are positioned at a staggered height for easy access and items are within easy reach near the door. We do wish there were a few more pockets near the top of the tent for nighttime essentials, but that’s a minor quibble.
The rear window is another thoughtful design, though it would be nice if the zipper could be retracted when opened.
