Comfort.
Comfort is crucial for car camping trips, and the Ascent 4 excels in this regard. The 78-inch peak height makes it easy for even 6-foot-6-inch tall campers to stand comfortably. The tent’s floor is generously sized, so you can sleep in any position you choose, while there’s still plenty of room for gear. The walls of the tent are nearly vertical, maximizing edge space and making it easy to organize your belongings.
We experienced a family outing – two adults, a toddler and an infant – and we found the tent to be spacious enough to handle even when the toddler’s toys took up space. If more space is needed, the 6-person tent version offers even more flexibility.
Durability
The CoreVibe Ascent 4 is built with reliable materials, but the fabric looks a bit dated. While we didn’t experience any issues, it feels like the fabric may be prone to tearing if handled roughly when setting up or taking down. The pre-bent tent poles, while practical, need to be handled carefully, especially in windy conditions. We recommend pitching the tent with a partner for convenience and efficiency.
Weatherproofing
A compact rain cover may seem inadequate at first glance, but the Ascent 4 ‘s ability to withstand torrential downpours is impressive. We didn’t notice any leaks despite the fact that it rained for days on end during our trip. However, it’s important to note that the tent can flex in windy conditions, so proper tension on the drawstrings is critical for optimal performance.
The CoreVibe Ascent 4 tent has a spacious interior, is reliably weatherproof, and is simple to assemble. While it may not be the most stable option in extreme winds, its all-around performance makes it an excellent choice for family or group camping adventures. The CoreVibe Pinnacle 4 tent provides a comfortable and spacious camping experience, but there are a few considerations to keep in mind. Since the canopy does not extend beyond the body of the tent, rainwater may seep into the tent during heavy rainfall. The use of a base or ground tarp is critical, as no such tests have shown some leakage from the bottom of the tent.
The Pinnacle 4 tent features near-vertical walls and an impressive top height for improved occupancy comfort. However, this design makes it more vulnerable to strong winds. To solve this problem, if high winds are forecast, pitch your tent near a natural wind barrier and secure it completely with drawstrings.
Easy to pitch
In theory, pitching the Pinnacle 4 should be simple, as it only requires two main poles and a brow pole for the vestibule. However, the process can be difficult, especially if you’re setting it up alone or in windy conditions. Tent designs that include pole sleeves that require the main poles to cross in the center before passing through the secondary pole sleeves can be tricky.
Pre-curved tent poles are critical to achieving the impressive top height of the tent, but require precise maneuvering and adjustments to align correctly. This can become particularly tricky in windy weather as the tent poles can become misaligned or additionally bent. While this won’t render the tent unusable, those setting up a tent on their own should be prepared to encounter frustration.
Features.
The Pinnacle 4 is equipped with a large D-shaped door for easy entry and exit, while accommodating large gear such as camping mattresses. The low threshold design reduces the risk of tripping and makes getting in and out easier.
On warm summer nights, campers can remove the rain cover to enjoy maximum airflow and stunning starry skies. While this often comes at the expense of privacy or gear storage space, the Pinnacle’s design cleverly addresses these concerns. Its vestibule is separate from the rain cover and attaches directly to the main body of the tent, while the roof mesh is protected by a small, cap-shaped rain cover that is quick and easy to secure.
There is a brow bar at the front for added stability in windy conditions and to create a small awning that prevents water droplets from splashing onto the doorway. Inside the tent there are four large mesh storage pockets which can be used for essentials such as headlamps, sunscreen and keys. These storage pockets are positioned at a staggered height for easy access and are close to the door for quick access from the outside. There are also a couple of storage pockets at the top of the tent for easy access to items at night, but this is not a major shortcoming.

The CoreVibe Explorer 4 tent is a versatile choice for outdoor adventurers seeking reliable shelter. While it performs well in general conditions, the canopy can feel a bit loose when deployed, especially if wind resistance is not a major consideration. As such, it is suitable for camping in fair weather.
